Mick has been active in the Securities Finance market for more than 35 years, working on both the sell side and the buy side of the industry. Between 2006 and 2021 he led the Securities Finance business of Aviva Investors, the fund management arm of the Aviva Insurance Group, where the product mandate included repo/reverse repo, securities lending and any physical or synthetic equivalent instruments.
Prior to Aviva, Mick spent almost 20 years working in the fixed income financing space for various banks. He started his career at Lehman Brothers, where he was an early pioneer of the international repo market. He went on to design, build and run the European repo business for UBS (1991-2000) and HBOS Treasury Services (2000-2005).
He is a former Board member of both the ERCC and ISLA, as well as previously sitting on the Bank of England’s Money Markets Committee (MMC) for several years. In addition to various professional qualifications, Mick holds a degree in Mathematics from St Peter’s College, Oxford.
